Berlin based online store increases its turnover by 500 percent and expands its presence in Asia

Berlin, November 4th, 2015 - Today Lesara blows out one more candle on its birthday cake, as the International online store for affordable fashion and lifestyle products celebrates its second anniversary. Launched in November 2013, the Berlin based E-commerce company can look back on a true success story. In comparison to the first fiscal year, their customer base increased by 400 percent to 750,000 active customers, while sales increased by 500 percent. This is validation for the online retailer with a wide variety of goods, as they have increased their range in the last year by 150 percent to more than 50,000 products. New in-house brands have also contributed to this development, as a total of five in-house brands currently complement their collection.
A further milestone was reached with the opening of new markets. With the expansion into Italy and The Netherlands, within only two years the online store already boasts a presence in six countries, making great strides in its evolution as a leading European web store. This continued growth trajectory enabled the successful series B round of funding in September 2015 to the amount of 15 million euros. This was financed by a consortium of investors led by the Norwegian venture capital enterprise North Zone.
The size of the Lesara team has also grown rapidly. In Berlin and the newly opened location in Guangzhou, China more than 150 employees are currently employed - 90 more than in the first fiscal year. The Chinese office supports especially effective contact with local business partners and enables both extremely short production and delivery cycles at near unbeatable value for money, as well as effective quality control.

Irrespective of gender, fashion items prove to be particularly popular. The absolute top seller is a hooded jacket, which has reached over 110,000 sales.
